Our mission

Help every Ghanaian SME operate professionally, without paying global SaaS prices

Our mission is simple. Take the workflows that quietly leak cedis from Ghanaian SMEs (attendance, payroll, accountability, visibility) and turn them into the calm, professional foundation that lets owners actually grow.

  • Vision: a West Africa where every SME runs on clean data
  • Mission: professional operations for Ghanaian SMEs
  • Ghana-first pricing, always in GH₵
  • Accountability as a first-class feature
  • Built in Accra, designed for the whole country
  • Honest about what we ship and when

Mission statements are usually written for investor decks. This one is written for the Ghanaian SME owner who already knows what is wrong with their attendance book and is wondering whether anyone is actually building a serious answer.

We are. This is what we are building toward, what we believe, and why we made the choices we made.

Our vision

A West Africa where every SME, from a five-person shop in Madina to a fifty-staff hotel in Cape Coast, has the same operational clarity as a global business. Where attendance is automatic, payroll is calm, disputes are rare, and owners spend their time on growth rather than reconciling exercise books.

This is not aspirational. The tools that make it possible already exist; they just have not been packaged for Ghana. Our vision is to package them properly and price them honestly, until the paper attendance book is genuinely a thing of the past.

Our mission

Help Ghana SMEs operate professionally by replacing memory, paper and WhatsApp with one clean digital system. Improve accountability by making clock-ins traceable, adjustments auditable and disputes resolvable on evidence. Reduce payroll disputes by ensuring the hours in the export match the hours actually worked. Help businesses scale by giving owners the multi-branch visibility they cannot build themselves. And improve workforce visibility, so the gap between what the owner thinks is happening and what is actually happening closes for good.

That is the mission, in five clauses. Everything we ship is judged against it.

Our core values

Ghana-first product decisions. If a feature does not help a Ghanaian SME, it does not ship, no matter how good it might look in a global demo.

Honest pricing. Always in GH₵, always visible, no enterprise sales gymnastics. A free tier that is genuinely useful for small teams, and per-staff pricing that is a fraction of what poor attendance leaks every month.

Respect for operator time. Setup should take days, not months. Daily use should feel invisible. If you have to think about Kuwa, we have failed.

Accountability, both directions. We hold our customers' workforces accountable to clean records. We hold ourselves accountable to the roadmap we promise.

Why Ghana first

Because we know it. Because we live here. Because the workflows that matter to us are workflows we have run, watched and lost sleep over: split shifts at chop bars, twelve-hour security posts, casual construction wages, multi-branch retail, recruitment placements billed by the hour.

And because the gap is the widest here. International products are priced in dollars and built for foreign shift patterns. Local options are mostly spreadsheets dressed up as software. The space for a Ghana-first, professionally built workforce platform is enormous and largely empty. We intend to fill it.

Once Kuwa is the obvious choice for Ghanaian SMEs, the same playbook applies across West Africa. Lagos, Abidjan, Dakar, Freetown. Every one of those markets has the same problem and deserves the same Ghana-quality answer.

What is on the roadmap

Attendance is the foundation. On top of it we are shipping: payroll exports MoMo-ready and SSNIT-friendly, rota and shift scheduling for split and 24-hour operations, audit trails for labour disputes, basic HR essentials such as leave and absence, and eventually full payroll runs paid directly to MoMo wallets.

Every release is shaped by Ghanaian operators using Kuwa in production. The roadmap is theirs as much as ours.

What success looks like for a Kuwa customer

Five concrete outcomes we measure ourselves against.

Payroll reconciliation in minutes

Month-end becomes a coffee, not a Saturday. Hours flow from clock-ins straight into payroll exports in GH₵.

Disputes settled on evidence

When a staff member challenges a payroll figure, the audit trail answers the question. Both sides walk away with trust intact.

Multi-branch visibility from a phone

Owners can see who is on post in Accra, Tema and Kumasi without leaving the house.

Hours actually worked, hours actually paid

Buddy clock-ins and generous rounding stop. Margins improve without any other change to the business.

Defensible labour records

If a dispute escalates to mediation, the SME has the records to settle it cleanly.

How we hold ourselves to this

We publish what we ship and when. We listen to Ghanaian operators first. We price in GH₵ and we do not change the rules quietly. We treat the audit trail as sacred, for our customers and for ourselves.

If we ever stop being the most useful tool a Ghanaian SME can put at the entrance to their business, we have lost our mission. We do not intend to lose it.

  • Public roadmap, Ghana-driven
  • Honest GH₵ pricing, free tier intact
  • Operator feedback as the only true product spec
  • Audit trail integrity treated as non-negotiable
